So down here in little ol' NZ we've got a bit of a clash going on between the freedom, love and pro-queer brigade and the right-wing Christian fundamentalists, yeah? And one of the comments from the fundies (quoted here) was:

Homosexuality - think about what that really is. Think real hard. Think in detail..... It is sick... If you can not see that, then you are sick as well. It must be stopped! – comment by “Fact”

*points to self* Sick! Sick and proud! *g*

And also? Think real hard. Think in detail.

That's like instructions in how to write porn. *shakes head sadly* I don't think they've thought this through.

notes to self

1. When subject of slashfic comes up at dinner with straight non-fen*, keep mouth shut.

2. Refrain from a) explaining what slash is, and b) insisting that genfic and slashfic are moral equivalents, equally worthy of energy-input and respect. No-one will believe you, so you might as well save your breath.

3. Erase phrase "gay porn" from spoken vocabulary.

4. Having mentioned gay porn, don't be surprised when your insistence that most of your slashfic is PG-rated is met with skepticism. (Be glad they don't ask what you read.)

5. Work on alcohol tolerance.
