Life! Why so niggly and tiring?

I am embroiled in car drama, which today has involved waiting around at a tyre place and a mechanical place, and in a café near the tyre place, and replacing all the tyres even before I could go to the mechanic to see if my car is salvageable, because the tyre people (who were really quite lovely) said that I'd be safer on a skateboard than in my car, as it then stood.

The drama started on Monday night, when I went to drive to a gym class and discovered that not only did I have a flat tyre on the driver's side front wheel, but that the wheel rim on which that tyre supposedly sat was seriously munted. Like, instead of being round, it was the shape of a partly eaten pie. Which is a wee bit baffling, since there's no way that could have happened without me noticing while I was driving (wheel rims being made of sturdy stuff that doesn't just crumple when you look at it), but if it happened while the car was parked on the side of the road, the collision/event/impact really should've done damage to the rest of the car, or at least shunted it wholesale into the bank next to which it was parked.

Only logical conclusion: aliens stole my car and took it for a joyride.
